PokerStars launches mobile in UK

PokerStars has launched its smartphone and tablet mobile app in the UK market, following a succesful launch in Italy with 10% of users signing up to mobile.

The app offers the full PokerStars real-money experience on Apple and Android smartphones and tablets.

It comes on the back of the test launch in Italy, which PokerStars reports has seen 10% of Italian players using the mobile app daily and 7% using mobile exclusively.

Jeffrey Haas, PokerStars Director of New Platforms, said the new product was the most 'authentic poker experience' in the market.

PokerStars Mobile is more than just the migration of the existing PokerStars game product to the mobile platform,' Haas said.

'It's an intentional product designed specifically for the form factors of mobile and tablet devices, and the different ways people play games on them.'

The mobile launch is set to be part of a major revamp of PokerStars offering, with the firm expected to launch its 'Rush Poker' style fast-moving ring game product later this quarter.
