New version of poker software due in November from Bodog Network

Bodog plans to launch a completely new version of its poker software at the end of 2011. 'We will hopefully have completely new software up in November,' Patrik Selin, Bodog Europe CEO told InsidePoker Business.

Bodog currently runs on proprietary software it has developed over a number of years after acquiring it from software firm Micropower.

But the new version is set to be a huge leap forward for the firm and Selin said he expects it to be well recieved by the players.

'We think it is going to be top three in the industry from a software perspective and depending on what happens it may even be top two,' Selin added.

Bodog's poker network is currently one of the few major networks still open to US players, and sits at 13th in the pokerscout rankings.

But to-date there has been relatively little promotion for the site in Europe, a fact Selin acknowledged.

'If you are going to do a lot of marketing you need to have good software or you are just training up players for one of the bigger sites so until now we have kept a lower profile,' he said.

'After we get it up in November it's going to be a really big step forward and then you are going to see much more poker marketing from us.' ...
